RFID in Parking Management

RFID parking system divides the smart parking management into a single gate reader or multiple gate reader. There is no need for parking attendant and any type of human intervention as drivers don’t swipe ID cards at the entrance or exit gates. The gates are integrated with UHF readers to identify the windshield tags of vehicles locating at a distance of 8-10feet and moving with a speed of 6-100mph.
RFID in Preventing Theft Crimes
Smart cities are always protected and secured as they have a low percentage of theft and stealing cases. According to FBI recommendation, deployment of RFID technology in cities, malls, restaurants, retailing stores help the authorities to identify assets and individual as fast as possible.
For instance, these RFID systems provide a real-time visualization over a facility map for checking human’s movements and their belongings. Therefore, security officers can check the movement of thefts and locate the position of stolen items, i.e. in bags, pockets, under jackets, under caps or stuffed with socks.
Similar to above, ramparts, grounds, or ceilings of smart cities are endorsed with UHF RFID readers. As they are hidden inside the walls of malls, streets, ceiling, so they can detect criminals, illegal entrance and disruptive events instantaneously.
RFID in Tracking the Victims
These days, one of the leading challenges is to search victims after disasters such as earthquake, hurricanes, cyclones, tornadoes.
The RFID tags, attached to object, store the information through unique identification code and RFID reader reads this information. These readers transmit the EM waves to detect the tags and display the information in front of the rescuing team, crisis management departments or emergency personnel.
Even if the victim lost his tag, the rescuing team can detect the last location of that tag through the computing database. Thus, copying, storing and regaining victim’s information in a database can help the agencies to locate a victim’s position remotely.
RFID in Medical Sector
Healthcare sector can get enormous benefits from RFID technology as it has the power to check, trace, identify anything at any time.
Recently, RFID readers and sensors were integrated into the digital bands to make a wristwatch. RFID chips in these bands allow the nurses to schedule routine of their patients like time of the meal, time to give medicine, time for exercise or meditation.
RFID readers scan the patient’s disease and inform the doctors about the intensity of the disease, which helps them to isolate that specific patient from other patients. Besides, RFID readers can also help to maintain patient’s records, process patient’s fees, identify medical facilities ranging from ventricular assist device (VAD) to a syringe.
